MTI makes managed services move

Surrey-based integrator claims to be one of the first to wrap services around Vblock packages

Server support: MTI Care allows end users' infrastructure to be remotely monitored

Systems integrator MTI has branched into managed services with the launch of its MTI Care initiative.

The service is powered by technology from CA-owned cloud specialist Nimsoft. It will allow MTI to remotely monitor and analyse its clients’ IT infrastructure and, in turn, detect any potential problems.

The firm intends to offer the service to storage, server and virtualisation customers, as well as those that have purchased one of its Vblock infrastructure packages.

Richard Flanders, product marketing director at MTI, said the move marked out the firm as one of the first to combine managed services with Vblock technology.

“For us, it means we can not only provide customers with the equipment, but we can also deploy it on site and manage it for them, if that is what they require,” said Flanders.

“It has always been our intention to offer managed services in support of the [Vblock] products, because we knew it would be such a critical platform for our customers.”

Tony Conway, vice president of services at MTI, added: “[MTI Care] complements our existing service offering and allows us to remain at the forefront of the European cloud infrastructure industry.”
