Northseas brings ProDefence on board for UK exploration
Email archiving vendor Northseas has signed UK distributor ProDefence to help boost market share
Email archiving vendor Northseas has signed UK distributor ProDefence to help boost market share.
The vendor has launched the Gal E/N (pronounced Galleon), its latest email storage appliance, and wants to set up an official UK channel strategy. Aimed at the higher end of the market, the product sits alongside Northseas’ Guard E/N (pronounced Guardian) appliance, designed for the lower end of the market.
Stephen Spence, chief executive of Northseas, told CRN: “We are trying to open up mail storage. Our go-to-market strategy is to have partners such as ProDefence in each country. Our goal is to be the prominent name in the email archiving space, particularly with the increase in demand for compliance. Gal E/N is easy for our partners to sell because it’s a box, it is vendor-independent, and it works on whatever mailserver and storage system a customer is using.”
Tony Leopoldo, account manager at ProDefence, told CRN the vendor is aiming for a four-tiered channel strategy, with Select partners at one end and Premier partners (divided into Silver, Gold and Platinum levels) at the other. ProDefence will recruit, train and support partners on Northseas’ behalf.
“We are looking for a limited number of partners. There is no point in diluting the effect by having too many resellers on board,” he added.
