C2C announces launch of partner programme
Vendor seeks increased channel presence
Email archiving vendor C2C plans to increase its channel presence with a partner programme launched at Storage Expo, which took place on 17 and 18 October.
The recruitment drive includes deal registration, sales and support through a partner portal. It also offers its partners a rapid-response tool for better email performance, security and crisis control.
David Cassell, product manager for C2C, said: “We are focusing on creating about a dozen tier-one partners that will receive the best margins and commitment from C2C.”
In the past, C2C has worked with about 50 resellers, only a handful of which can be considered tier one, said Cassell. Resellers will be encouraged to aim for top-tier status to earn the best margins. “All are eligible to join for the Opportunity Registration protection scheme,” said Cassell.
“When hardware is upgraded, the old equipment is replaced, but our software is compatible with any hardware, thus prolonging the life of storage,” he said.
One challenge C2C may encounter is customers preferring known email archiving brand names, for example Mimecast.
“Our technology is as advanced as some of the bigger brands, but this partner programme will help increase our channel presence and therefore more customers would choose C2C,” said Cassell.
“C2C’s email software is compatible for a company with as little as 25 users, but can also be used in enterprise companies with more than 100,000 users,” he added.
Sarah Kok, head of marketing at C2C’s rival Mimecast, said the email archiving market has significant growth opportunities. “Email archiving is not an overcrowded market, so there is always room for new companies,” she added.
