Seagate and eSys end three-year spat

Vendor and components distributor reach out-of-court settlement

eSys is pleased with the dispute's 'amicable resolution'

The long-running dispute between hard-drive vendor Seagate and its former distributor, eSys, has finally come to an end after the duo settled out of court.

Seagate axed eSys in November 2006 after the Singapore-based distributor denied it access to its accounts. At the time it was the vendor’s largest distributor globally.

Three years later, the two parties have finally settled all claims pending between them, with no party admitting liability.

They are keeping schtum on the terms and conditions of their settlement.

Akash Deep Sharma, director of eSys, said: “We are pleased with the amicable resolution of the dispute with Seagate, and it allows the company and its management to focus on growing the business and capitalising on acquisition opportunities that the economic climate has created across the world.
