Trueman resurfaces in channel at Servo
Former UK chief of Info'Products John Trueman, has reappeared as MD at Servo - his first position since January's sudden departure.
Trueman took up the post at the Matlock-based reseller on 1 April. He was recruited by Bill Smith, former MD of Servo, who will now become chairman.
Trueman left Info'Products after nine years, four of which were spent as MD. He was joined by Huib Winkel as joint MD in January. Three weeks later, he left after a complete management overhaul - a move which he maintained was by 'mutual agreement'.
Servo has 200 employees and offices in Peterborough, Northampton, Harlow, Bristol and London. Trueman was first approached by Servo in mid March.
Trueman described the job as an attractive opportunity: 'Servo has got promising growth potential. There's an excellent value add mentality within the company and 30 per cent of revenue is service based.'
He said he has high ambitions for the reseller. 'There is a good, aggressive management team in place, and we are moving into more major accounts.'
Servo's turnover was #35 million for the year ended 31 March. The company acquired two resellers in 1996 - Holdene in July and The Computer Centre in December.
