Dabs brushes up web site
e-tailer revamps site to draw in new business
Online reseller Dabs.com is to give its web site a £500,000 facelift to attract new customers.
The site will aim to appeal to less tech-savvy users, with improved navigation and merchandising features. The company confirmed the launch date will be 12 September.
Jonathan Wall, sales and marketing director at Dabs.com, said: “Products have converged and we are starting to sell to a more diverse customer base. The site will make it easier for them to find what they want.”
Wall added that the site will support additional browsers. “We found that 16 per cent of our customers are using Firefox. Previously we had developed only for Microsoft Internet Explorer.”
Clive Longbottom, service director at Quocirca, said: “Dabs has always been seen as the techie’s web site, but it has moved into consumer goods. This is an important move. The techies will follow, and the site could gain new customers.”
