Computerlinks offers VARs cloud short cut
Distributor claims its ALVEA Infrastructure offers a fast-track for partners eyeing cloud move
Dave Ellis: ALVEA infrastructure is a low-risk strategy
Computerlinks has launched its own-brand pay-as-you-use cloud services offering in a move designed to shatter the barrier of entry into the cloud computing market for its partners.
The distributor’s ALVEA Infrastructure enterprise cloud services offering is based on a partnership with enterprise cloud hosting provider OpSource.
Dave Ellis, director of new technologies at Computerlinks, said the distributor had eliminated all upfront costs for its resellers by creating the ALVEA brand and investing in marketing collateral, training and legal documentation.
The distributor will also front the 24/7 support.
“Partners are often not as entrepreneurial as they were and are under pressure to show return on investment,” said Ellis.
“Two years ago, the shutters went down; now they are willing to look at new technologies again, but they want to do it in a way that is low risk.”
Mike Worby, business development manager at Computerlinks, said: “For resellers looking at cloud, there are so many services out there. The fact this is
an infrastructure offering means end users can have IT resources at their fingertips on a pay-as-you-use basis.”
