eSys signs up with Samsung

Distributor signs up new vendor, just weeks after being termintaed by Seagate

Following the termination of eSys’s distribution contract with storage giant Seagate, as reported by CRN last week (CRN, 13 November), eSys has signed a new distribution deal with Samsung Electronics.

The agreement involves the distribution of Samsung’s range of hard disk drives across North America, Canada, Latin America (except Brazil), and EMEA, excluding the Ukraine, Russia, Nordic, France, Poland, Spain and Germany.

Neeraj Chauhan, chief operating officer at eSys, said: “We are glad to be associated with Samsung, whose hard disk drives are fast gaining ground globally thanks to the excellent performance and read speed.”

Asked what the deal meant at a UK level, eSys said it did not want to comment. A Samsung Electronics (UK) representative told CRN it was not involved at this stage because it was a global agreement.
