TSG stays on acquisition trail

Wylie considers purchase in south-east

Technology Services Group (TSG), the VAR owned by Sage founder Graham Wylie, is expected to move into the south-east of England next, following its fifth acquisition in six months.

Wylie acquired ISI Systems as TSG's second Scottish VAR for an undisclosed sum last week, and rumours are rife that the VAR now plans to buy Kingston Upon Thames-based accountancy software VAR CCL Menzies.

CCL Menzies declined to confirm or deny the rumour, but sources have told CRN the deal is expected to go through shortly.

Duncan Wyeth, sales and marketing director at Sage reseller Serion Logic, said: "It is just a case of letting the ink dry."

Nigel Hudson, group director at TSG, said negotiations are continuing concerning further buys, but would give no details.

"We are still looking in England," he said. "We have yet to buy anything in the south but if the right opportunity comes along we will acquire, because we have to take seriously a region where there is a concentration of businesses."
