Softek unveils data replication products
Vendor adds weight to new data replication strategy
Softek launched two new products last week, as a platform for the storage software vendor's new data replication strategy.
Chris James, European marketing director at the vendor, said the offerings, Replicator and Provisioner, fit in with its TDMF software.
"Data replication has always been seen as expensive, so the technology has not been available to SMEs," he said. "Our new strategy is aimed at the top down, and we are looking to give our channel a wider base to target."
David Parker, business development manager at VAR Positiv, said: "This software replication technology is abstracted away from the disk vendors, so it's independent.
"It doesn't matter what vendor's hardware the user has or whether it's on Unix, Windows or mainframe; it will still work."
Softek sells half of its products through the channel, but by the end of next year it wants to be a 100 per cent channel company.
