Soft sell on the net for Warehouse

Software Warehouse, the off-the-page dealer with high street shops, is launching itself as an internet service provider (ISP) to get its adverts in front of computer users on a daily basis.

The service is called Softnet and will be pushed by Software Warehouse telesales staff to all callers - either encouraging them to switch to ISP or get on-line for the first time.

Software Warehouse MD Steve Bennett intends to put an offer in front of Softnet users which will change every day. "We'll brainwash them into buying from Software Warehouse. If they use it three times a week they'll see Software Warehouse's name three times a week and there'll be a much higher chance of them buying from us instead of Watford (Electronics) or Technomatic."

The Softnet starter kit costs u12.95, including Quarterdeck's Internet Suite 2 and Webtalk, from the mail-order company. Monthly rates are u9.99.
