Exact woos dealers with a range of Dutch treats
Dutch accountancy software firm Exact Software is renewing its efforts to expand in the UK through acquisitions, more dealers and the appointment of an English general manager for the first time.
It is hoping to double growth in the UK by adding 10 dealers. Exact has set up a training and consultancy division, a software development unit and is recruiting eight sales and technical support staff.
Simon Turner, commercial manager of Exact Software UK, said: 'We are focusing on large dealers which are disillusioned with their existing suppliers.'
He refused to comment on whether Exact was considering buying Platinum, but said the company was not in negotiations with anyone yet.
Direct sales account for 40 per cent of its business, although Turner expects this to decrease as part of its commitment to the channel.
The UK arm contributed five per cent to u55 million turnover in 1995.
