HP launches catch-all certification programme
Vendor to accredit IT pros in storage, servers, software, networking and printers as part of ExpertONE scheme
Course of action: Reseller sales and technical staff can gain competencies in just one day, says HP
HP is introducing a converged infrastructure training and certification programme which will cover technical and sales accreditation across its entire portfolio.
The HP ExpertONE programme will include training on technologies including networking, storage, servers, software and printers. The scheme aims to educate IT professionals on how to design, deploy and maintain open standards-based networks.
The Fast Track element of the programme will recognise single-vendor certifications already held by IT workers, allowing the learning process to be sped up. Courses can be taken online, from textbooks or in person at various learning centres. ExpertONE certified pros will also gain membership to the Connect online community.
HP claims the programme will increase sales opportunities for resellers. Channel tech and sales heads can gain competencies in as little as one day, according to the vendor.
Susan Underhill, HP's vice president of global certification and learning, said: “Organisations are transitioning from multiple technology silos that are closed, complex and costly to converged infrastructure environments that are open, efficient and easy to manage.
"HP ExpertONE supports the network and datacentre of the future by developing a workforce with comprehensive technology skills combined with business acumen.”
