Juniper unveils $50m Junos fund
Networking vendor offers to bankroll developers that build on its operating system
Two-year fund will help venture-backed start-ups
Juniper Networks is ploughing $50m (£32m) into a new fund designed to bolster its Junos partner community.
The Junos Innovation Fund will target venture-backed companies that build on the operating system and “complement Juniper’s growth strategy”.
Key investment areas will include networking technologies, applications and services around security infrastructure, advanced mobility and video solutions, virtualisation, network automation, optical technology and green networking.
Kevin Johnson, chief executive of the networking vendor, said: “Junos already offers our customers, partners and developers a powerful platform to drive innovation for the network, from the core to the client, without having to build from scratch.
"With the Junos Innovation Fund, we'll expand that ecosystem with capital resources in addition to SDKs and support services that will accelerate the velocity and variety of 'new network' solutions reaching our customers.”
