Fisher cuts ties to Skillsgroup
P&P founder Peter Fisher has severed all links with the Lancashire-based reseller, now called Skillsgroup, after announcing his resignation.
The company confirmed that Fisher, who founded the reseller 17 years ago with his then wife Pam, will step down as non-executive chairman on 30 September. He continues to be one of the firm?s main shareholders.
Nick Melvin, marketing manager at Skillsgroup, maintained that Fisher?s departure would not affect the company, as Fisher had passed over day-to-day control in 1985 to group MD David Southworth.
Fisher is leaving Skillsgroup along with Tony Fisher, so that they can pursue other business interests. Philip Livesy, a former senior partner of Coopers & Lybrand, will join Skillsgroup as non-executive chairman on 1 October. Other non-executive directors will be appointed.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that National Westminster has increased its shareholding in Skillsgroup by 13 per cent. Last week, the bank increased its share in the firm by 10 per cent.
