Sana's European chief unveils channel plans

Vendor's newly-appointed European boss reveals channel plans

Anti-malware vendor Sana Security has appointed a European head to help increase its market share.

Peter Baxter has joined Sana as EMEA general manager and has big plans for Sana’s channel. Baxter previously held positions at CA and Symbol Technologies.

“We have a multi-tiered channel programme in place and have aggressive plans to grow our indirect model over the next two quarters,” Baxter told CRN. “We are particularly confident of gaining a good share of the digital home and home-office markets. We are making full use of our relationships with ISPs and vendor partners to create pull for our channel.”

Sana currently works with Centerprise and Getech as its distribution partners, but Baxter confirmed the vendor was in talks with two other distributors, although he declined to reveal their identity.

Mark Jordan, managing director of Getech, said: “Sana operates in a critical emerging market. Because its products co-exist with other anti-virus offerings from traditional security vendors, it is a lot easier for our partners to sell. The fact that it has appointed Peter, who has a UK background, will also help it have a less US-dominated approach when it comes to strategy.”
