Datapoint wins BT contract once again

Maintenance supplier Data-point has beaten stiff competition from three major suppliers, Granada, Servicetec and Norsdata, to retain its #3 million BT maintenance contract.

The BT contract is for maintenance on PCs and peripherals at its City of London office. BT national service manager Tony Stables said the contract went to Datapoint because of its understanding of BT's business objectives and because of its reputation in the industry.

Datapoint, which has held the contract for the last three years, is extending its business to include disaster recovery systems for software that fails.

The company has also won the BT independent desktop third-party maintainer award for the fourth year running. The award is assessed annually by BT's regional third-party maintainer managers. It is based on performance across ten categories, including responsiveness, flexibility, technical understanding of faults and results of customer surveys from BT departments.
