BMS treats NHS with single sign-on

Demand for single sign-on (SSO) in the NHS is snowballing after a critical mass of trusts have success- fully rolled out the technology, one of the sector's leading suppliers has claimed.

Some 55 out of 650 trusts have now implemented SSO and VAR BMS has just clinched its tenth deal.

BMS has been selected to roll out Imprivata’s OneSign solution for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The reseller is one of Imprivata’s four main UK healthcare partners alongside Enline, BDS Solutions and Logicalis.

Chris Booth, sales manager at BMS, said: “The penetration of SSO is not massive yet and trusts are nervous about deploying new techno-logy. But they are realising the technology is proven in that environment and the uptake is now improving.”

Wayne Parslow, vice president of EMEA operations at Imprivata, told CRN: “One of the key reasons for BMS’ success is it has a long track record of selling similar security technologies into healthcare.”
