VizionCore signs SCH as third UK distributor

SCH Group's ETC and Interchange brands will carry vendor's offerings under new deal

Virtualisation vendor VizionCore has appointed SCH Group as its third UK distributor to help meet the growing demand for the mushrooming technology.

The vendor already has Magirus and Centia as distributors and will now also go through ETC and Interchange, the two distribution brands of SCH.

Colin Wright, regional director northern Europe at VizionCore, said: “We have grown sevenfold in the past year and with this demand we began discussions with SCH. Our technology has a very high attach rate to VMWare and SCH is one of its biggest distributors, so is able to bring to us a whole new set of partners. Two distributors servicing all of our customers just isn’t enough.”

Wright said the vendor has signed one contract, despite the products being distributed through both ETC and Interchange brands.

“We are expecting at least a 50 per cent increase on business through this deal,” he added.

He denied that the move would have any major impact on the vendor’s two incumbent distributors, Magirus and Centia.

“The others are fully briefed, this is not a knee-jerk reaction to anything, we are growing so quickly that we need to plug into this gap,” he said. “Certain partners are loyal to certain distributors and this is what we want to leverage through SCH.”

Julia Legge, SCH distribution marketing manager, said as one of VMWare’s distributors it made sense to look at the VizionCore product.

“We are not looking to be another provider of VizionCore, we want to nurture the product and work with resellers so they build solutions around virtualisation, not just ship the pro-duct,” she said.

She said both the ETC and Interchange brands will sell the VizionCore range, which includes the esxRanger Professional and esxMigrator products, because both brands have their own sets of partners.

“We won’t just bring incremental revenue in terms of new partners, but we will also work deeper with our existing partners.”
