Realtime Distribution gets Cooler for gamers
Thermal solutions specialist added to portfolio for its effective cooling system
Components distributor Realtime Distribution has added thermal solutions specialist, Cooler Master, to its portfolio of suppliers.
Taiwan-based Cooler Master, established 10 years ago, is known to system builders for its chassis, power supplies and cooling systems.
As PCs are increasingly power-hungry and processors overheat, quietly effective cooling systems are more important than ever, said Vas Roberts, sales manager for Realtime Distribution.
“Some laptops these days have cheap components that sound like a jumbo jet taking off once the fan kicks in even if all you are doing is basic spreadsheet work.
“This can really cause headaches,” said Roberts. “Components are so cheap now you do not want to make false economies. What you save on the fan, you will have to pay for 10 times over in headache pills,” he added.
Cooler Master will be useful for business system builders, according to Roberts. But the sector where its aesthetically pleasing components will make most difference is in the games machine system building industry, he maintained.
“Games players will be over-clocking, so the systems are going to create a lot of heat. But they do not want the sound of the game drowned out by a fan. The games machine sector is the fastest growing sector on the system builder’s radar, so it is vital we give them the best components available,” he said.
Cooler Master makes powerful but quiet fans and offers system builders the option of sound-proofed cases to further reduce noise, according to Roberts.
The aesthetics of purpose-built machines are increasingly important, he added, which is another reason Cooler Master has become more influential in the past decade.
“People are paying a premium for games machines and they buy them for fun. It is a lifestyle product, so naturally they want them to look cool,” said Roberts.
Many etailers and retailers on Realtime’s client list want systems that are economical to build, he said. “The quality of components means you save time in assembling the machines. The wires can be hidden away, so it looks good and the components can be locked into place in a moment,” said Roberts.
Gregor Peng, director at Cooler Master Europe added: “I am looking forward to increasing the value perception of Cooler Master products and creating more satisfactory user experiences.”
