RoHS regulations on their way
Upcoming directives will have an impact on all producers of electrical equipment
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances regulations become law on 1 July 2006.
It affects manufacturers, resellers, distributors and recyclers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) containing lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers.
If new EEE is put onto the market that contains more than the permitted levels of these substances, fines will be levied.
