Origin Storage boosts battery power

Hampshire company partners with US-based battery and adapter vendor BTI

BTI makes replacement batteries for leading laptop brands

Basingstoke distributor and storage vendor Origin Storage has taken on the portfolio of US battery and adaptor vendor Battery Technology Inc (BTI).

According to a statement from Origin Storage, BTI makes batteries and adaptors for various leading laptop brands and guarantees the quality.

Andy Cordial, managing director at Origin Storage, said the master distributorship means resellers get another alternative to OEM power products.

“Origin’s existing dealer network will have the option to purchase the BTI range from Ingram Micro or Origin,” Cordial said.

“BTI offers an extensive range of power products for digital cameras, camcorders, MP3 players and laptops. A comprehensive and easy-to-use configurator will be available [online].”

Cordial claimed that BTI uses only top-quality, grade-A cells to make batteries in ISO-certified factories in the US and China. The vendor also has warehousing hubs in Europe, China and the US.

David Sarazen, executive vice president at BTI, said the company aimed to enhance sales of notebook batteries and power accessories in the UK.

“I have been working with various distributors, resellers and sales organisations in Europe for the past 15 years and the team at Origin Storage offer the highest-level of support and professionalism that any vendor would expect,” Sarazen said.

“They are clearly well respected in this market.”

Origin Storage supplies product for Tier One manufacturers such as Dell and provides matched storage upgrades. It has distribution and reseller partners across EMEA. Origin also makes the Amacom range of portable storage, which it bought in 2006.

BTI has been manufacturing various power products since 1992.
