Asymetrix to sell via Web
Internet software company Asymetrix Learning Systems is moving the focus of its business from CD-Rom to the internet and intranet.
The company provides authoring and education software which is distributed by Ingram Micro.
Peter Kelly, managing director of Asymetrix Europe, said the vendor was looking for further reseller partners, particularly with experience in vertical or general multimedia markets. He said Asymetrix was looking to increase its development section by acquisition and by expanding its own resources.
Aysmetrix took over Aimtech in the summer and inherited its direct salesforce.
Kelly admitted there was always going to be conflict in having indirect and direct operations. The salesforce is paid a mixture of commission from direct sales and from sales directed to the channel to reduce the conflict.
