Ilion calls halt to feuding with appointments

Networking distributor Ilion has eradicated political infighting between its two senior directors after restructuring its management team.

Following the appointment of Alan Mack as Ilion managing director last month, there were concerns that the two sales directors, Lynette Summerfield and Charlie Stewart, would be unhappy in their roles.

Both applied for the position of managing director, and Summerfield took over the role as general manager until Mack joined the distributor.

As part of the restructure ? effective from 3 September ? Summerfield will remain as sales director, where she will continue to progress salesforce activity and reseller relationships, as well as seeking opportunities for significant contracts in the UK.

Stewart has become product marketing director with responsibility for key vendors such as Bay Networks, Cisco, 3Com and IBM Networking.

One source said: ?It is understandable when someone new joins an organisation that there will be an element of uneasiness among the staff. But hopefully this division of responsibility should sort things out.?

Commenting on the restructure, Mack said: ?A combination of fresh-blood, time-served professionalism, experience and raw enthusiasm means Ilion?s management team is stronger than ever.?
