Interquad opens door for Arnett

Former Azlan director Ed Arnett has resurfaced at network distributor Interquad as managing director, in the midst of the company's employee reorganisation.

Arnett has taken over the managing director role from John Pennell, who has become an international consultant for the company. Arnett, former group director of marketing and services at Azlan, was made redundant two months ago along with group strategic marketing director Andrew Budd as part of a continued cost-cutting exercise (PC Dealer, 17 December 1997).

Arnett started work at Interquad on 2 February and will head the company's services, distribution and training divisions.

Commenting on Pennell's role within the company, Arnett said: 'John is still working under the directorship of the company and will be employed in other countries.'

Neil Bassett, Interquad commercial director, said: 'John had built up the sales and marketing for the whole group in the past 18 months.'

Bassett added: 'John will act as a consultant to Interquad and its parent company.'

He confirmed that his own role as commercial director covered marketing throughout the company and no longer incorporates responsibility for sales, which he had prior to the reorganisation.

Interquad has also appointed former Anite employee Jason Chick as director of consultancy.

According to Bassett, the company has undergone an internal change: 'We have changed offices and integrated our services side and now need Ed's industry profile.'
