Sale rumours hound Peapod
Specualation mounts over imminent sale of security VAR
Security reseller Peapod is staying tight-lipped on rumours that it is in talks to sell the business.
Chris Durnan, chief executive of Peapod, told CRN: “Everyone is up for sale, including Microsoft and IBM, but anything further than that is pure conjecture.”
Having been bought from administration by private equity firm Global Emerging Markets in 2002, Peapod recently told CRN that it was considering acquisitions to take advantage of the strong security market (CRN, 22 March).
However, one source said: “Peapod is in talks with two companies; one in the north, one in the south. It’s a good niche security reseller.”
