Vendor signs distie to carry mobile data products
Orange has finally taken on a data distributor, signing Ingram Micro to carry its range of mobile data products across the UK, France and Belgium.
The vendor said in August that it was looking to sign at least one data distributor by September.
The agreement includes mobile voice and data products and services, and is expected to expand to include hardware, such as PDAs. "It enables our resellers to take IT products into new markets, especially wireless," said Bhavesh Patel, commercial director at Ingram.
Benoit de Saint Aubin, director of channel management at Orange Business Solutions, said the deal will allow VARs to buy mobile and IT products from a single source. "It's not the quality of sales that's important, it's the relationship between Ingram, Orange and the reseller," he said.
