MSI joins netbook battle with Micro-P

Components vendor enlists Micro-P to drum up interest for its MSI Wind netbook

The explosion of the UK netbook market has prompted distributor Micro Peripherals (Micro-P) to up its game by signing a partnership with components vendor MSI.

MSI is best known for its VGA and mainboard products, but the alliance will also hand Micro-P access to the vendor’s netbook offering, MSI Wind.

Mark Kahr, director at Micro-P, hopes to establish MSI as a key player in the UK market.

"With the emerging netbook products looking to explode in the UK market, it is crucial that Micro P align itself with a strong netbook partners,” he said.

“MSI is a brand it was difficult to overlook with such positive feedback from the market and our customers, which was supported by many industry awards for the MSI Wind. The decision to partner with MSI was an easy one as I have no doubt they will carve a place in the netbook arena. "

Joanne Yi, sales director at MSI UK, said: “Micro-P’s philosophy of offering quality products and service to their customers will help us maintain our market share and further grow the MSI brand in the UK market.”
