EasyNet sets sights on reseller recruitment
ISP will not put a limit on the partners it aims to sign
ISP EasyNet is looking to sign an unlimited number of reseller partners.
Alan Ryan, director of wholesale and channels at EasyNet, told CRN: “We have 650 partners and this number is increasing by 40 to 60 per month. The higher end is not growing so much. Finding the right partners is essential: we profile all new partners.”
Ryan said EasyNet will not set a maximum figure on the number of partners it recruits, and will continue to sign VARs to meet market demand.
“Our partners are using the internet as a hub of everything,” he said. “VARs are providing broadband and wrapping around security and email. There is still revenue and margin in the broadband marketplace.”
Ryan added that EasyNet’s Silver partners service the SME market, Gold partners focus on the mid-market and Platinum partners operate on a pan-European basis.
“EasyNet operates on a resale system, where partners buy from us separately, then supply end-users,” he said. “This way partners own the end-users and we can build trust.”
Ryan claimed EasyNet’s business model has become more channel-centric and indirect sales are increasing.
Andrew Dickinson, marketing director at rival ISP Griffin Internet, said EasyNet’s channel recruitment blueprint is sensible. “We have 250 VARs and on average are signing one new partner per day,” he said. “We are happy to continue to scale up.”
