Landscape Group gets green light with HP contract
VAR is one of just two partners in Europe selected to remarket HP's printer range
Green light: Landscape Group has been courting HP for the remanufacturing contract for some time
VAR Landscape Group’s Printing Systems division has secured an exclusive printer contract with HP across EMEA.
One of just two resellers in Europe to be selected, Landscape Group has won the Remanufacturing Contract for HP IPG EMEA, which has replaced the HP Renew Programme for IPG that ended last month.
As a result, HP and its supply chain will ship a range of products to Landscape’s Hampshire-based factory where the firm will bring the products back to a ‘like-new’ standard. These products include customer returns and cancelled orders, demo and trial equipment, factory or reseller overstock and new product that has damaged or opened packaging.
Once restored to the requisite condition, Landscape Group will sell the products to other HP VARs across Europe. Each product has the option of a full HP warranty.
Nat Hart, chairman of the Landscape Group, said: “This will enable us to supply products to other HP partners at an aggressive price point. There is also the environmental angle in reusing existing kit.”
Hart said that securing the contract has meant rapid expansion for the division.
“We had to demonstrate that we could scale for the volume, which meant increasing our factory and warehousing capabilities as well as recruiting people into our business,” he said.
“We expect to have doubled in size by the end of the year,” he added.
One HP partner already working with Landscape is Bechtle. James Napp, the company’s managing director, welcomed the initiative.
“Landscape is an excellent resource in the channel and complements Bechtle’s own HP IPG resources very well,” he said.
“It gives us an extra dimension when working on managed print opportunities and being able to source HP renew through them will be a great added benefit.”
