Vendor hands out distribution contracts for its first colour A3 MFD as it looks to make a splash in the MPS space

Love me tender: Midwich and Westcoast went through "a competitive tender process", according to Samsung

Samsung has awarded distribution rights for its first A3 colour multi-function device (MFD) to Midwich and Westcoast. The South Korean vendor is now hoping to become a bigger player in the managed print services (MPS) space.

The manufacturer launched its MultiXpress C9350ND and C9250ND MFD models today. Features include a customisable user interface and Samsung claims the devices incorporate "powerful security features". The new additions to the line-up have been designed to complement the vendor's existing MultiXpress A4 portfolio.

Midwich and Westcoast have been awarded exclusive UK and Ireland distribution rights for the products following "a competitive tender process". West Yorkshire-based Adventdata will also distribute supplies alongside the two hardware players. Samsung claims the launch of the products into the channel will help fuel the success of its MPS offering.

Dion Smith, general manager for Samsung's Imaging and Printing Group in the UK and Ireland, said: “Until now, Samsung has focused solely on delivering exceptional A4 printers and multi-functional devices for the business and consumer market. Thanks to our ongoing investments in R&D, we hope the new A3 MultiXpress range will continue to deliver the same high standards in A3 that end-users have come to associate with all Samsung technology.

"We are also very proud to announce the selection of our valued partners Midwich, Westcoast and Adventdata as exclusive distributors of our award-winning A3 MultiXpress range.”
