Neverafail to incorporate software into Westeks iSCSI systems
Neverfail has signed an OEM agreement with Westek Technology to incorporate its high-availability software into Westek’s iSCSI systems.
Neverfail’s software allows data replication across two iSCSI storage devices in separate locations in case of primary or secondary device failure.
Steve Stobo, sales and marketing director at Neverfail, said: “This will be sold by Westek’s global channel partners. Level-one and level-two managed service will be provided through Westek’s resellers, and we will provide level-three support, such as bug fixes, remotely.”
Stobo claimed high-availability storage is a huge opportunity for channel partners, adding that the integrated product will play predominantly in the SME space because it offers a lower price than similar products from larger storage vendors such as EMC.
“This is a new approach to storage. It incorporates high-availability software directly into the hardware, rather than positioning it as an additional sale,” he said.
Perry Sharple, technical director at Westek, said: “We look to expand our business through partnerships, and our channel partners. This is a specialist product that will play well in the 300-users and below space.”
