SCC move on French front
Pan-European integrator beefs up services with TBI-Proxis Services acquisition
Pan-European integrator SCC has wasted no time pursuing its services goal, with the acquisition last week of French-managed services provider TBI-Proxis Services for an undisclosed sum.
The deal positions SCC among the top 10 French infrastructure services businesses with an annual turnover of £1.1bn.
James Rigby, European general manager for services at SCC, told CRN: "Previously we were outside the top 20. It has also doubled our service revenues in France."
TBI's capabilities cover remote management, internet hosting, maintenance, desktop services and help desk support. "Traditionally, we have focused on large accounts. TBI focuses more on SMEs so it will open the SME sector up for us in France," Rigby said.
"We will stick to the space we're in, servicing desktop mid-range technology. Our growth will be organic."
Kate Hannaghan, analyst at Ovum, said: "A stronger services operation in France will improve SCC's chances of winning pan-European contracts."
