Opal picks up TAG
Business division of Carphone Warehouse snaps up its second reseller in six months
Opal snapped up TAG for £752,360
Communications provider Opal has snapped up another reseller in the form of telecoms specialist The Airtime Group (TAG).
Opal, which is the business division of Carphone Warehouse, claims the £752,360 move, will benefit its channel partners by offering them a wider variety of commercial models, products and services.
TAG is a subsidiary of CANISP, and billed as one of the UK’s ‘key resellers’ of fixed line telephone services for voice and data.
Nathan Stenson, director of Opal’s wholesale and indirect channels, said: “Opal is happy to announce the acquisition of TAG. This is another example of Opal acquiring a partner where we have a long term relationship.
“We will be working closely with the TAG team to ensure a seamless handover. The company’s direct and dealer customer base will continue to be supported in parallel with an aggressive customer acquisition plan.”
Last September Opal bought another VAR, V Networks, for an undisclosed sum.
