When Don McCabe and Nik Agar decided to run their own business, theydidn't know what lay ahead. Having been bought out once, the pair are nowback in the driving seat at CHIPS, as David Gibbon discovers.

When two young lads from the North-East met up in 1984 and jointly agreed that they wanted to run their own business in computer retailing, little did they know what lay ahead of them. Don McCabe was 27 at the time, studying for an HND in Computer Aided Engineering at his local Poly, while 17 year-old Nik Agar was working at a nearby computer store.
