Realtime and NorthQ join forces

Realtime becomes exclusive distributor of NorthQ products in the UK

Danish computer components maker NorthQ has signed an exclusive UK distribution deal with Realtime Distribution for its power supply line-up.
NorthQ is already a well-known brand in the gaming and PC enthusiast segment, with its products now distributed in 16 European countries and also in the US. Realtime will be supplying the company's 4775-500S "Godzilla" and "Giant Reactor " 1kW power supplies, among others.
NorthQ also manufactures the WaterChill water-cooling kit for high-performance systems, as well as a wide range of media centre and traditional PC chassis, external TV and video tuners, processor and graphics cooling kits, USB drives and card readers.
Christian von Scholten, managing director of NorthQ, said: "We are extremely happy to be signing an exclusive distribution contract with Realtime Distribution. Realtime is very professional and well qualified to market our products, including our remote-controlled powered supplies, USB power supplies and even PSUs with an integrated alarm system. NorthQ offers products of both high quality and stability, which is why Nato has chosen to use our power supplies in its computer systems."
Christopher Bloxham, product manager at Realtime, stated: "NorthQ manages to bring power, performance and price together, while still offering an excellent margin for resellers."
In related news, Shuttle Computer announced the first fully equipped, pre-configured Media Centre PC with a Blu-ray drive, for handling high-definition (HD) content. Users can choose from the Pioneer BDC-202 Blu-ray combo drive for writing DVDs and playing back Blu-ray content or the Pioneer BDR-202 Blu-ray writer for reading and writing to blank BD media, CDs or DVDs.
The small form factor (SFF) PC offers a choice of Intel Core 2 series processors, up to 4GB of DRam and the nVidia GeForce 8600GTS graphics card. The system comes with both DVI and HDMI ports.
Tom Seiffert, head of marketing at Shuttle Computer, said: "HD entertainment in SFF PC format has, with this Shuttle XPC, become a reality. The use of the latest components makes possible the playback of full HD material, while maintaining a low system load.
