InTechnology makes break
Distie splits from Clearswift in 'amicable' move
InTechnology has parted company with security vendor Clearswift in a move that both firms claimed was "amicable".
However, the distributor will continue to partner with Clearswift in Europe and remains on a 60-day notice period in the UK.
The move comes hot on the heels of the content filtering vendor's announcement that it will be launching a revamped partner programme next month, with stricter partner requirements.
Ian Bowles, senior vice-president worldwide operations at Clearswift, said: "InTechnology has made the decision and we respect that. It is an amicable parting of the ways, and it is business as usual for us.
"We don't see this as impacting our channel policies. We still have two other distributors in the UK, Unipalm and OpenPSL. I certainly don't have any plans at the moment to recruit another."
Tim Ager, vendor sales director at InTechnology, said: "It is an amicable decision. Clearswift is one of our longest-standing partners and it was a hard decision.
"We had concerns about the viability of the changes to its partner programme and that it would not return the value we would require. We also had concerns about its product roadmap, and felt that other vendors we partner with are more rapidly fulfilling our requirement for the market."
Ager added that the distributor will honour all of its existing Clearswift support agreements.
