Johnson erased from GIC listing by brother
The brother of troubled reseller Desmond Johnson is distancing the dealer from his own business, after fears it could affect sales.
Brian Johnson, director of reseller Global Internet Consultants (GIC), told PC Dealer he was removing his older brother's name from Companies House documents because he did not want to be associated with the name Desmond Johnson.
Desmond Johnson is director of Regitech Data Systems, a reseller that has attracted a number of complaints in the nine months it has traded. He admitted to PC Dealer that 200 machines had been ordered and paid for but not delivered (PC Dealer, 7 October).
Companies House records Desmond Johnson as secretary for GIC and his younger brother Brian Johnson as director.
'If you check back in two weeks' time it will be different,' said Brian Johnson. 'His name will be off the company. I don't want my company involved in anything unfortunate.'
Brian Johnson revealed that when he started GIC, he needed someone to sign the documents as secretary and he had asked his brother.
'We're nothing to do with Desmond at all. My company has been going for two years and I'm about to publish my second-year accounts. In terms of any operations, he has nothing to do with my company and I have nothing to do with his.'
Desmond Johnson was unavailable for comment. Customers of Regitech Data Systems have also been unable to get hold of Johnson or the computers he owes them, despite his promise to honour any deals made.
