Resellers look in Becta's Mirror

Portal will allow schools to evaluate their IT

VARs could benefit from Mirror Mirror, the latest online evaluation tool for schools launched last week by the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta).

The portal is part of Becta’s self-review framework and will allow schools to evaluate which areas of their IT system are performing well and those that need attention.

The eight elements of the self-review framework benchmark a school’s performance and help them to develop a prioritised action plan.

Simon Trollope, head of client communications at Becta, told CRN: “It will benefit VARs because schools will be able to tell them what level they are at in terms of IT development. This makes it easier for VARs to sell them the right technology.”

Becta hopes to get 3,500 schools signed up to the portal by the end of March.
