Kcom cheers Scottish framework success

Comms outfit lands just one of four slots on two-year public sector framework

Shake on it: Kcom is just one of four providers on the new framework

Kcom has hailed its inclusion in a framework which positions it as one of four fixed-voice suppliers to Scottish public sector bodies.

Procurement Scotland has selected Kcom to participate in the two-year framework agreement alongside industry goliaths Cable & Wireless, O2 Telefonica and Virgin Media.

It covers provision of provision of direct or indirect voice services and infrastructure, voice minutes, line rentals, electronic billing services and DDI provision, among other services.

Optional requirements available through the framework include broadband-based voice solutions, fixed-mobile telephony and 118 enquiries.

The framework, which began on 1 April, has the option of being extended for a further two years.

Paul Renucci, group executive director at Kcom, said: “Through our participation in this framework agreement, we’re in a strong position to offer solutions which are optimised for Scottish public sector organisations.

“We are committed to helping them fulfil their ambitions by offering flexible and tailored telephony solutions and intelligent network solutions.”

Ian Howie, head of Procurement Scotland, said: “This framework agreement will establish a new standard for the quality and cost-effectiveness of fixed voice services provided to public sector bodies in Scotland.”
