Symantec lowers barrier for small-business partners

Revenue requirement for Small Business Specialisation slashed by 90 per cent as vendor seeks to broaden reseller base

Choice cuts: Symantec hopes slashing the revenue requirement will attract more partners

Symantec has lowered the barrier of entry for and added more incentives around its Small Business Specialisation in a bid to attract more partners.

The amount of annual revenue partners must generate for the security and storage vendor has been slashed from $100,000 to $10,000. Symantec claims it has also added new support offerings, tools and financial incentives around the badge.

This includes the introduction of its Small Business Margin Builder online deal registration tool.

Members will also now receive 50 free internal-use licences on a selection of small business products to help educate their customers.

Meanwhile, a campaign creator tool to help resellers develop co-branded email campaigns has been developed alongside an SMB solution marketing helpdesk.

Glenn Woolaghan, Symantec’s senior director, Small Business EMEA, said: “Through the Small Business Specialisation, we plan to significantly increase the scope for more partners to get on board and open up additional revenue opportunities.”
