OKI names new UK MD
Phil Scrase replaces Chris Gill who announced he was stepped down in February
Oki Printing Solutions has appointed Phil Scrase as its new UK managing director (MD) and regional vice president (VP) western region, with effect from today.
Scrase had been acting managing director since 31 March, following the early retirement of Chris Gill after 24-years at Oki.
Fifty-four year old Scrase has been an Oki employee for 15 years, with nine spent in the role of VP of consumables, EMEA, which he will continue to oversee until a successor is appointed.
He is also chair for the Imaging Consumables Coalition of Europe which campaigns against counterfeit consumables within the printer industry.
Rainer Sauer, Oki's EMEA chief executive and chairman, said: “Phil is a seasoned executive at Oki and has proven himself an invaluable addition to the Oki UK team since taking on the difficult task of balancing his consumables role with that of interim MD and regional VP western region. He has, however, managed admirably with this challenge and I greatly appreciate his commitment and contribution during this time.”
Scrase said: “It’s an exciting time to be taking up the helm at Oki. The company is making bold steps towards the number one position by giving UK businesses real and affordable alternatives."
“OKI’s success must be attributed to the valued relationships we have with our channel and business partners. These partners have, and will continue to remain, central to our business needs, in addition to the absolute commitment to keep our core audience - UK businesses - at the heart of everything we do," he added.
