Appointments at Alcatel adds channel focus

Alcatel has appointed three new partners to help it become a convergence player

Alcatel has appointed three new partners to help it become a convergence player and offer additional application-based support.

The networking giant has agreed deals with Avanquest, European Technology Consultants and Proto-Call to assist current channel partners and contact centre customers.

“We hope the deal will offer a good complement and help to support our channel if they do not have the skills,” said Nigel Jones, business development manager at Alcatel.

“When offering a complete solution you cannot find a partner who has all the skills in-house. The new partners will bring a whole new set of skills and focus to our channel base,” he said.

Chris Thompson, managing director of VAD Avanquest, said resellers can benefit from the new partnerships and bring a more complete solution to market.

“We have established a large customer base and a channel of 30 resellers in telephony and data and

we have gathered a lot of implementation expertise.”

Separately, Alcatel has appointed Keith Rapp as UK channel manager for its enterprise solutions division.

Rapp will be responsible for maintaining and developing the vendor’s relationships with its tier-one and tier-two business partners in the UK.
