DMSL keeps partners informed at VAR day

Distributor confident of high demand for reseller event

BT distributor DMSL is to host a reseller day to promote and inform partners on upcoming opportunities and products from the telecoms giant.

The event will take place at the BT Centre next month, but may tour the country if demand outstrips availability. Around 100 resellers are expected to attend and DMSL is planning to highlight new services and margin opportunities.

BT is currently moving towards its 21st Century Network strategy in 2009, which will see it focus on voice over IP (VoIP).

John Carter, managing director at DMSL, claimed BT will come to the forefront in potentially expanding areas such as VoIP and broadband services over the next couple of years.

“It will be all change in the IP world and there is a lot of activity from BT in the business VoIP arena. BT is now coming to the VoIP party and this will see the area really take off,” he said.

Carter added that BT’s new direction will be of particular interest to the SME market and a face-to-face event is the best method to expand on potential opportunities.

Mark Evans, director at BT reseller and DMSL partner, ME Consultancy, welcomed the event.

“The more information from distributors the better and the event is a good way of getting people together and finding out more. BT is beginning to fight back against the competition in VoIP and it is in the best position to release new products,” he said.
