Perot moves quickly to woo Rittenmeyer

Ron Rittenmeyer, who resigned as president and COO of Merisel six weeks ago, has joined IT services firm Perot Systems as head of a new logistics division.

He left Merisel at the beginning of September, five days after the US-based distributor announced that it would sell its Latin American, Mexican and European operations to CHS Electronics.

The sale to CHS diminished the need for two senior-level executives running Merisel's North American businesses, and chairman and CEO Dwight Steffensen assumed Rittenmeyer's responsibilities from 1 October.

Rittenmeyer started at Perot just one day after the Merisel job officially finished. He said: 'Perot has logistics skills specifically tailored for the manufacturing, insurance and travel and leisure industries. I plan to leverage that experience and my own background with larger companies in diverse fields to benefit our clients.'
