Esteem eyes rival resellers
Firm pushes to acquire Oracle and Veritas resellers after MBO
Esteem Systems is pushing to acquire rival Oracle and Veritas resellers, following its recent management buy-out (MBO).
The MBO at the Yorkshire-based VAR had funding from Primary Capital and Lloyds TSB Corporate Acquisition Finance. Although financial details are undisclosed, the firm said it was in a strong financial position.
Alistair Kitching, sales and marketing director at Esteem Systems, told CRN: "Esteem will continue to grow organically and through acquisitions. Potential acquisitions of some Oracle and Veritas partners are on the cards."
Andrew Foster, director at Lloyds TSB Corporate Acquisition Finance, said: "It was easy to see the potential. The new team will enable the company to break into new markets."
Damon Dance, sales director at reseller Repton, said Esteem is making a smart decision. "The MBO was done to buy resellers," he said. "It won't worry Oracle and Veritas. The marketplace has been expecting erosion and consolidation for some time. Next year could be the year for it."
