New contracts

The Atlanta Coca-Cola Company has chosen Matra Datavision's Euclid Cad/Cam/ Cae system to design its distinctive contoured bottles. The software will be employed to develop product family databases, which Coca-Cola hopes will eliminate design duplication.

Chevron UK has brought two Liveboards from distributor Reflex. The oil company hopes the video conferencing products will improve productivity and build team relationships between its London and Aberdeen service centres. Future plans include the introduction of Liveworks software package Meetingdesk, for communication with offshore staff and European customers.

Exact Software has signed a deal with Kwik Fit Insurance Services, a newly established division of Kwik Fit, to implement a business management solution. Using Microsoft Excel add-in and Exact data files, the system will manage the company's new business as well as all monthly accounts and payments to suppliers.

ROCC's technical services division has managed to rack up more than u732,000 of contracts from its nationwide operation for third-party maintenance services of PCs, peripherals and warranty renewals. Most of its new business has come from the charity sector, a transport group, a housing association and from the restructured local authorities.

European IT services company CMG has completed a u930,000 project for the DTI's Insurance Directorate. The system will enable the directorate to supervise insurance companies in accordance with the Third EC Insurance Directives.

Bull's outsourcing and systems integration division Integris has been chosen as one of the contractors in a u4.5 million deal to supply water company Hyder with a new financial management system. It will provide 500 user Sap R/3 systems to support the company's financial administration, including ordering, payroll and accounting.

The TSB is using high-end SMP Unix systems from open computer system supplier Sequent, and Oracle software to build Ted, a data warehouse. Ted will hold up to two years of historical data on each of the bank's seven million customers.

Forte Software has been selected as the primary development platform in Anglian Water's u80 million redevelopment project.

Over five years, all of Anglian's applications will be moved on to a distributed client/server infrastructure based around Microsoft NT servers. Forte's visual application generator will be used to develop applications based on a central object model.

Preview Data Systems has been awarded a contract with Black Horse Financial Services, a member of the Lloyds Bank group. Preview will provide a range of PC facilities management services, including hardware maintenance, software upgrade management for bespoke POS application and computer asset tracking. The agreement will cover 1,400 Toshiba notebooks, Diconix printers and external modems.

Research company AC Nielsen has signed a deal with Datarange to design, develop and support an online access network for its UK users. Based on a Bay Networks router, a second tier of service will allow customers to make interactive queries.
