HyCurve aims to set Web standards

Fledgling internet training company HyCurve is looking to set the defacto standard for Web accreditation after the developer opened up its UK subsidiary last week.

As revealed exclusively in PC Dealer (7 April), Julia Jones, former director of Faculty - Ilion's training arm - joined as managing director of HyCurve EMEA last week. Her first task was to appoint Ilion Faculty, Informatics CTEC and IT-IQ as the company's training providers.

Jones said: 'It is important to establish partnerships with leading training facilities which have the knowledge and skills to maintain business growth.'

HyCurve was set up less than two years ago by Carolyn Rose, who previously worked at Novell, and played a key role in founding the vendor's training accreditation of CNE (Certified Novell Engineer).

Rose said: 'We are on the next wave of the internet revolution. We have to ensure that all the business needs are fulfilled by training staff to fill the serious internet skills gap.'

She added HyCurve was not looking to compete with vendors' internet training programmes but would complement their offerings. HyCurve is also working with industry standards body, CompTIA, to introduce a base level accreditation for anyone working on the Net.

'We are trying to bring clarity to the chaos brought about by the internet revolution,' said Rose.
