The five-year contract is the first to be awarded as part of the government’s Building Schools for the Future programme. The scheme aims to renew or rebuild all of the secondary schools in England and is worth about £40bn, with £2.1bn to be spent on updating and supplying technology.
Chris Stone, chief executive of Northgate Information Solutions, said:“Through the intelligent use of technology, Northgate wants to make education a rich and fulfilling experience for all the students of Bristol.
“There are no boundaries to IT, and there are no boundaries to our imagination or ambition. Along with our public sector partners such as Bristol City Council, we want to help make Britain the world leader in IT learning experiences.”
