Logicalis quashes Intact rumours
Integrator crushes rumours that it is to spin off Cisco specialist
Cisco Gold partner Logicalis has denied rumours it is seeking buyers for its channel services arm, Intact Integrated Services.
Intact was set up as part of Logicalis UK, but became a separate subsidiary of the Logicalis Group at the beginning of the year to ensure independence from its VAR parent.
Tom Kelly, UK managing director of Logicalis, rubbished speculation that Cisco specialist Intact would be spun off.
Intact managing director Bob Dalton admitted some new reseller customers were still cagey about working with the subsidiary of a rival, but said he had no plans to attempt a management buy-out (MBO).
“Intact is hardly small with £10m UK revenues, but it is not the same comfort as being part of a group with $3.5bn (£2.1bn) sales. Nothing is ruled out, but we do get benefits from being part of a large organisation,” he said. “An MBO is not something we have considered.”
Kelly claimed there are few conflict of interest issues as Intact is now treated as a separate business.
